Ephesians 6:10-24
Big Idea: Christians are in a real spiritual battle, but we stand in victory by wearing the armor of Christ and depending on him in prayer.
1. The Battle We Are In
Paul reminds us that our deepest struggle is not against “flesh and blood,” but against spiritual evil.
The visible world is not the only world. Temptation, deception, discouragement, and division are part of a larger spiritual battle.
But our strength does not come from ourselves:
“Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.” — Ephesians 6:10
2. The Armor We Need
Paul tells Christians to put on the whole armor of God:
Truth
Righteousness
The gospel of peace
Faith
Salvation
The Word of God
This armor ultimately points us to Christ. We stand in his truth, his righteousness, his salvation, and his strength.
We do not create the armor. We receive it from Jesus.
3. The Victory We Have
Paul ends with prayer.
Prayer reminds us that we are not strong enough on our own and that Christ is.
So when we are tempted, afraid, discouraged, or weary, we pray and stand firm.
Takeaway
The battle is real, but Jesus has already won.
We do not fight for victory. We fight from victory.
